Ex-Agent for Robert Griffin III wants RG3 to “Show Him the Money” By: Justin Riley

Just a week ago, to the delight of many Ravens fans, Robert Griffin III signed a 2 year, $4.5 million contract extension to remain the backup to Lamar Jackson. However, celebration for the Griffin camp was fleeting. Now, he is being sued by in a Missouri District Court by his former NFL agent, Ben Dogra. Dogra claims that while employed by Griffin from 2012-2018, Griffin refused to pay over $650,000 in fees before ending their relationship. The actual number is $658,975.57. This originated from a 15 percent share of the marketing and endorsement deals negotiated for the quarterback during that time period. With this suit, Dogra is seeking repayment of the debt, plus interest. According to the court filing:

Dogra invoiced Griffin for $389,803 in fees in 2014, but only received $12,975 in payments

Dogra invoiced Griffin for $258,559 in fees in 2015, but only received $36,371 in payments

Dogra invoiced Griffin for $58,714 in fees in 2016, but received no payments

The former Heisman Trophy winner from Baylor had a phenomenal rookie campaign with the Washington Redskins in 2012. However, what was shaping up to be a brilliant first season with a promising future was derailed by injury. Many fans blame then head coach Mike Shanahan for continuing to play an injured Griffin despite not being at full health. He would never recover from the injury and lost the starting position to Kirk Cousins. Post-Redskins, he signed with a dismal Cleveland Browns franchise looking for a spark. However, that season was marred with injury. Robert went unsigned in 2017, before catching on with the Ravens in 2018.
