Penn State’s LB Micah Parson won’t be playing this college football season and will begin preparations for the 2021 Draft.
Pac-12 Schedule
Pac-12: 10-game, conference-only schedule with one bye week per team and a week off on in mid-December. The plan is to begin on Sep. 26 and end on Dec. 18 or 19.
The new schedule features rivals Arizona at Arizona State and USC at UCLA in the first week instead of the traditional end to the regular season.
Rivalry games are usually played in November in the week of Thanksgiving. But that’s not the case this year, as the Pac-12 has scheduled two of its biggest rivalries in Week 1: USC at UCLA and Arizona State at Arizona. However, considering California and Arizona have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, none of the four teams are guaranteed to be ready to start play by Sept. 26. If necessary, these games could be moved to Dec. 12.
Tiebreakers for Division Titles
With the possibility of teams playing a different amount of games, the Pac-12 released updated guidelines for selecting its division champions. In the case of a two-team tie, head-to-head matchup will be the deciding factor. However, in the case of unbalanced records, there’s an important caveat to picking a champion.
Changes to the Pac-12 Championship Game
The 2020 Pac-12 Championship Game was originally slated for Allegiant Stadium and booked for Dec. 18 or 19. However, that trip to Las Vegas will have to wait a year, as the conference title game will be held on campus in 2020. In the event of a tie, the Pac-12 released updated guidelines for determining the location of the game this fall.
One Less Bowl for 2020
The Pac-12 will have one less postseason matchup to fill in 2020, as the Redbox Bowl was canceled. As of early August, the conference has guaranteed spots in the following bowl games: Alamo, Las Vegas, Holiday, Sun, Los Angeles and Independence Bowl. The Rose Bowl is a CFB Playoff semifinal for 2020, so if the Pac-12 champion isn’t in the four-team playoff, it’s likely to find itself in one of the New Year’s Six matchups.
Every Team Misses One Opponent
With the shift to a 10-game conference-only slate, every team in the Pac-12 will miss just one team in 2020. The full list is below, with Arizona State-Washington and Stanford-Utah likely the biggest games not slated for this fall.

Pac-12 Players letter
A letter from Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott, dated Aug. 3, was sent to 12 football players leading the #WeAreUnited movement. The letter was obtained by The Associated Press and first reported by Sports Illustrated.
The players say they have been communicating with more than 400 of their peers throughout the Pac-12. The group released a lengthy list of demands Sunday and said if they are not addressed they will not practice or play. The group said it reached out to the Pac-12 on Sunday to request a meeting. In the letter, Scott said he was eager to discuss their concerns.

Notre Dame gets Western Michigan for its non-ACC game on Sept. 19
Of course the ACC bends over for ND and lets them in the conference for 2020, then proceeds to gives them Clemson and Florida State at home.

- Notre Dame: The Irish, normally one of seven Independent FBS members, will temporarily join the ACC.

The 2020 PGA Championship
The 2020 PGA Championship tees off today at San Francisco’s TPC Harding Park, which is hosting its first-ever major.
It’s the first major in more than a year — and the first of seven majors in the next 12 months. Though there won’t be any fans in attendance, the excitement is palpable.
- Brooks Koepka is going for his third straight PGA Championship title, a feat never accomplished since it switched to stroke play in 1958 (Walter Hagen won four in a row in match play during the 1920s).
- Tiger Woods appears set to make a rare putter switch, using his backup Scotty Cameron instead of the famous Newport-2 he used to win 14 of his 15 majors.
- Justin Thomas is currently ranked No. 1 in the world and is coming off an impressive World Golf Championship win. He won the 2017 PGA Championship and finished tied for sixth in 2018 (didn’t play in 2019).
- Bryson DeChambeau is absolutely crushing the ball off the tee. That makes him a favorite, as Harding Park’s thick rough favors big bombers because it’s far easier hit short irons out of it than it is to hit long irons.

it is. Let’s get this show on the road. Breaking News, Micah Parsons has officially opting out of the college football season. He’s a Nittany Lion from Penn State linebacker. He’s gonna he’s gonna prepare for the 2021 draft Tyler. I mean, we’ve been seeing some few college players not as much as NFL, but how significant is this for Penn State?

Since I believe is the best defensive player in college football, I mean, there’s a good argument for it. I think the top 10 tech linebackers sometimes don’t go out of the pie. But he’s a terrific player. He was a top five player coming out of high school. You know, I do my team talent formula was worth six points because of the top 10 level player, which is my high point level in my formula. So actually by just him not longer being on the roster for the season 10 state dropped from the number 10 rated team to the number 12 just with one player so that it’s significant. It’s never good last now tempting schedule because they had the schedule come out yesterday. Their schedule is actually not that tough. It’s very it’s a very workable schedule for them. Very good very day at a pretty good drama, though. But you say today the poll came out. Coaches bullhead Penn State number seven, and I’m like without micro Part Number seven, but I really thought they probably should have fallen outside the top 10 from my opinion.

And we’ll definitely be talking about the big 10 schedule, which Ty has a huge opinion over it. Let’s start with the PAC 12 schedule. Pac 12 has decided to do a 10 game conference only schedule with one bite week per team and a week off on in mid December. The plan is to begin to December 26 and end on December 18 or 19th. Oh for Oregon that well. Okay, for kegel, you know 10 game conference schedule for everyone for Oregon in general I actually think the schedule is a lot easier on you obviously you’re playing the game against Ohio State they were not going to be the favorite on they had the game against North Dakota State who they ought to be the saver but you know it’s a tricky game is the best team in the FCS over the last decade they’ve beaten several FCS close to multiple games one there’ll be not be the favorite. The other one they’re gonna be a favorite but it’s gonna be a tough first game. And instead they’re not playing and the very front end of the schedule. I don’t think any of those teams are really that good. I think Colorado maybe the worst team in the PAC 12. Washington State. You know, they have a new coach. They never have a ton of talent. They made an awful lot of very, very good game planning and gimmicky offensive game calling by Mike Leach good development to be able to be as good as they were but Overall, they’re not a very talented team, they have a new coach and they’re already having some conflict within that organization. You know, it just as the season has started, and then your third game your home games against Arizona State, who is the best team, they’re going to play in the first four games, but it’s at home and I think Arizona State is good in some parts. There seem Jane Daniels a good quarterback, this good young receivers and stuff. But I still think there’s a lot of holes in Arizona State team. So I don’t think it’s a great team. It’s an OK thing. And then Oregon State, Oregon states is never very good. They’re always the bottom end of the basketball. And there definitely it hasn’t played well against Oregon over the last several years. So the first four games just aren’t I don’t think those teams are great. So I think it’s going to be a good start. Now they have a little tougher stretch when they get to Washington and cow and us see, I think it’s washed Can you do a seat and cow I forgot the way Wait, that’s a little bit of a tough stretch. I think those are a couple of the better three of the better teams, the fact walls. I think UFC probably as the second we go to talent, I’d say they’re the second best roster to Oregon. And then to end the season and going off top my head Am I looking at either? So that’s in seven games, so the end of the season would be probably Arizona. Utah was the last

Okay, well, I don’t think Arizona is good. But it is in Arizona and Oregon. They played for there, but I don’t think they’re very good. I think Arizona actually is between Colorado and Arizona for the worst team in the PAC 12. I would lean Arizona it’s close. And then Stanford who knows they have a terrible year last year but they still have some talent on but it’s that often not that’s gonna matter as much as your but I think Oregon Better than the last game Utah Utah might be. Because Utah lost a lot of pieces. But there’s still a good team they still year after year that won the last two Pac 12. title. They are very good at home. It’s at the end of the season, it’ll be in cold weather. That might be if I was to pick the one toughest game on Oregon schedule actually might be that game, especially if Oregon comes in nine to know. And they’re kind of looking ahead plots with the PAC 12. championship. That’s probably the toughest game. But yeah, we’ll see. And then another thing that has to be taken into consideration is are players going to opt out? I know Oregon was guides on that whole opt out united movement by the basketball

enough. Yeah, will they not play and there’s guys like the Nissan jump in Holland, who are like first round possible possible first round, I mean, today’s will follow Probably a top 10 pick. Jevon Hollins probably a first round early second round pick. Will they not play because they really necessarily, I guess don’t have to as much because they’re already in a good position when it comes to their draft positions. Oh, yeah, a lot, a lot, a lot of things to look for. But as a whole, I wouldn’t say it’s a crazy tough schedule for Oregon. And I think it got a little bit easier because they lost the very top of Ohio State game, and even a pretty tough North Dakota State game. And they’re closing down stuff. I actually think that game will get moved. I actually think that game will might even be the last game like it always does. So as of right now, if it’s first game, I definitely think UFC is better. But I actually I’m gonna call it right here. I don’t say that game gets played September 26.

Yeah, I mean, just in general, they’re moving at a slower pace to opening up. Um, yeah, I mean, if anyone’s gonna end then they’re the ones that did this movement and asking this crazy letter that like the big 10 did the same latter. I thought the big 10 was way more specific, making sure that they had the guidelines in place to be able to you know, help them with the health protocols necessary during COVID I think that seemed perfectly fair, perfectly reasonable. On the back wall there’s a lot a lot more nonsensical asking for 50% revenue and really stuff like that. So

I think I don’t know what to say. It’s just the whole the whole attitude out there is I deserve this. I deserve that the West Coast is not it’s not my cup of tea when it comes to most people. I’m not going to generalize all groups people because everyone has good people, bad people, but just more of like an entitlement and it made sense there sounded kinda It was kind of left a bad taste reading there. Pac 12 united demands, whereas when the big 10 came, it came with a lot more specific, a lot more Midwestern style like hey, we’re concerned about our health. We want want to make sure that we have the proper protocol, proper testing in place so that we’re able to stay safe and you know, we’re able to complete the season in a good way. I thought it seems they’re they’re moving on the big 10 the big 10 united that was came across the tadpole came across his property in a very yeah respectful and responsible way. Roll appropriate and necessary matter. I thought the PAC 12 came across as well. We deserve this. And we need 50% revenue. And you need to save this for you need to take your in doubt as your entitlements and your endowments and pay for it and cancel

I think you’re gonna have a lot of the higher end draft level guys, they’re going to end up opting out, which is gonna be it’s gonna be a problem, you know, you’re losing really, really good players. For the most part, so fun a tool for again would be a guy, he could opt out and you’ll still be a first round pick. So and Jevon Holland, I call him to be taking a little more of a risk. He’s considered possibly a first or second round pick. But he also is someone that’s not necessarily an elite athlete. So by not playing he could hurt himself. I think you’d be taking a little more risk today so could sit out and be perfectly fine. He’s gonna get drafted. So but Willie, I don’t know. We’ll see. Some guys will come back you know. You know, I was a couple out there Alabama, guys, you’d think you’d think guy like Mosley. And maybe Nadia Harris, you know, running back would sit out, but none haven’t.

No, but even like I go back and look so the top 25 is released by the coaches today. Alabama would play Georgia who’s number four LSU is number five, Florida who’s number seven? I think a&m I thought my head was number 13 at Auburn was number 11. That’s five top 15 teams including three top 10 team. That’s a tough schedule.

So when I look at that, and I look at all Florida playing Georgia and Georgia playing Alabama and Alabama, Florida, and you know even throw in a Tennessee’s a borderline top 25 team, and then you throw in Texas a&m and Auburn when you look at those teams playing each other. Could the SEC see So okay, we have Ohio State cakewalk schedule. They just say they go to Clemson

Actually, they play the 123 in the top, top 45 teams during the season, they’re gonna probably play another one in the championship. clemson would have earned a little more of 11 and a record this year or 12. And on and they play a lot of games. So let’s just say for the hypothetical Clemson’s undefeated, and then you got Ohio State’s undefeated. Let’s say Oklahoma goes through and undefeated in the big 12. And then you have Oregon undefeated, does the SEC get left out? Because I could totally see a one loss being the champion there and every team has been one loss. It’s all the other conferences end up with undefeated teams. Does SEC is this is how you got is this the way you get the SEC out of the playoffs is by having a COVID shortened season and that’s conference only where all these really good sec and top sec teams all have to play each other and they kind of eat each other. Yeah, yeah so I’m gonna I just did an update like a week ago but there’s gonna be updates because it’s going to change because of like I said the opt out. So obviously if people opt out to this point, coins Oh, hold on one second. times Turner is our my mom calling. My wife calling me

anyway. So it was important women in your life, aren’t they? Yeah. But who’s number one? I’m kidding.

Oh, my luck, okay. So obviously seems like I said Penn State opted out the last six points. So every team that’s having like an off of like serious player, it’s going to physically change their baseline talent. Um, I there’s going to be some changes because players opted out there’s going to be more.

And with no deadline, this can move on really quick.
Tyler Turner
And if you’ve seen my formula and you see the baseline talent you have, you have a pretty big significant tiers. You have tier one, which I just think Ohio States, Georgia, Alabama, and even Clemson or just on a whole nother level. And then you and then LSU, but is is is closed out there. But there, there’s still a little lawn for five stars. They’re rebuilding on a little bit and they also only have 73 guys on scholarship which is 12 under which is actually an enormous amount of being underneath the scholars. Whip limit, but the reason why that happened is they had nine early draft entries. And then they had three guys transfer. So they lost 12 undergraduates either approach or to transfer. So that obviously took a big hit in their overall scholarship numbers. So 85 the limit that you can have and there are 12 underneath that, which is not ideal because if some injuries happen, they just don’t have the, the depth, guys, they’re the fear so I would put them in tier two. And then really when you go, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas a&m, Notre Dame, USC, Penn State, Oregon, Auburn, Tennessee, Michigan, I don’t see a lot of difference. Those are my teams, six to 16 and there’s like a 20 point difference. 25 point difference between six and 16. And but when you really break down like the rosters, they all had pretty close in the number of blue chip. On the rosters pretty close to the number of five stars on the rosters pretty close to the number of top 100 players in the rosters. So let’s say you know, hypothetically a team like Penn State they already lost. Michael Parsons say they have another couple guys that out. They could have gone from having the 10th most out roster to the number 1314 more talent roster by just lose like two guys. That’s how close it is in that range. You have a team like Oklahoma, who’s already lost the five star to season ended ACL surgery, they have another former top 10 player five star that is going to miss the first part of the season because he had a neat Thursday injury. They have another former top 100 player, that’s going to miss the first six games due to suspension. So right there, you’re taking those guys off the roster and they’re dropping down a little bit in their overall talent. So it’s pretty close in that tier to tier one you those top those top four teams of Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Ohio State. There’s the nifty Way more talented than the rest of college football. Yeah, Alabama’s rockin it out of Ohio State number one class in the country for a while they’re having an amazing class Clemson’s. Number three, my ducks are for Oregon’s doing really well, but I think Oregon is going to get the commitment of a couple other top 100 guys here in the next couple months. And they’re also in the top two or three have a couple of five stars. I could actually see Oregon if they’re able to have a good season able to you know, go out there win another Pac 12 title. I think Oregon’s able to finish with a top five class I really think which would put them in almost you know they’d be in that borderline first tier of talent which would be amazing. Obviously a fan i’d love that. Um, who else is having a good class I think Miami last like a mission. Good Miami vibe is very class couple five star commands. They’re also leading in the crystal ball for another one. It’s cool, man, he had a good class. Yeah,

The only thing is you have to worry about it. If they go out and have a bad, he’s in debt to hurt their momentum. They have to be committed. They need to go out and have a good season because if you go down and have that fixed and 16 that really could hurt some of the positive momentum on the trail.
