This ravens team I don’t know about you, Joey but it feels like they’re gonna win the AFC I know the Steelers are a competitor there but how do you see this ravens team so far? game one.

They look unbeatable. I mean, they looked unbeatable last year, except in the playoffs haha. But they, they look great that you know, they look unstoppable. You know, people keep doubting Lamar Jackson and he just keeps Putting up huge numbers and looking incredible. So right now they look unbeatable. After one game. They look awesome, but we’ll see. I think there’ll be I think they’ll come down a little bit but I mean, clearly the the top tier of the AFC is the chiefs and the Ravens.

boy He is a very polarizing figure in Pittsburgh because Steelers fans are still angry that the Steelers did not draft JK Dobbins. So then when we see that he scores touchdowns in his first game, it does help things so yeah, I mean, he’s he’s a another good addition to that offense. And yeah, they look scary all around. But

all the above cases an absolute joke. I don’t know why he’s still a coach and I think you’ll be fired probably within a month or two. He has mismanaged that team from day one. Steelers fans pay close attention to the Jets because of levy on bell that, you know, he he broke things off with the Steelers in a very ugly breakup. And we’ve kind of hoped that he would fail in with the jets and he has but it’s not all his fault. You know, Gates is not using him correctly or at all. Seems like they’re always fighting. But yeah, that’s another question about Donald is he actually Any good or is he another bust? We’ll see. But I think gates won’t be around long. So it’s going to be another

So I think it’s going to be a very interesting race in the AFC East West. is a two things we just kind of Well, a couple things we pointed out here the like the class of 2018 got Baker Mayfield Rosen, sand that the Arnold and the fourth guy Lamar Jackson. We’re seeing who is improving Josh Rosen definitely pushed back in the practice squad. Pretty humble experience there. But so far we’re seeing the success and not the failures of these quarterbacks class back in 18. Let’s look at the packers and the Vikings 43 to 24 Aaron Rodgers to 64 this Minnesota team was stacked on paper but Green Bay shut down that noise.

I mean, gosh, you’re 17 nothing and you know, you give up 27 on answered my goodness, but I think the big takeaway from that game is that Washington’s defense, just scary. You know, tasty. look like an unstoppable beast. So, you know, if that’s Washington’s blueprint of having have an awesome defense and have a just good enough offense, maybe no win some I mean, I don’t think anybody gave him a chance. And, you know, after one week they look good.

Which we had a comment in our Periscope. That is saying that you know, some of the results you’re seeing that are few teams are not performing well is because not having the preseason. Joe, will you seen that with a few teams yesterday?

Honestly, no, I think that the level of play was actually pretty good. All things considered. You know, the thing about preseason games is therefore the backups usually, most teams have their starters only play like one quarter or one half and game three of a preseason game or something like that. So you know, and mostly we’re seeing the starters on these on these regular season games. So I don’t think the lack of preseason hurts To play, I was expecting worse. It was actually pretty good. All around.

Indianapolis visited the Jacksonville Jaguars, the only team that had fans yesterday and people thought that Jacksonville might be the worst team in NFL. I kid you not they were probably not showing that Gardner Minshew throwing hundred and 33 yards. Looks like Jacksonville has something to say in Annapolis, of course had a quarterback Philip Rivers. Um, are you having second thoughts with Jacksonville?

You know, um, I think what this game shows is that Gardner Minshew is a real deal. You know, there’s certain intangibles that some players have especially quarterbacks, they’re just winners. They just go out and win. I think that’s Gardner Minshew. He just has that it factor but on the other side, I I think I think the Colts are going to be a big bust. Philip Rivers I think it might be. I think that’s going to be a disaster in any Annapolis. I think either he’s done, or it’s just not going to work out but I have a feeling philip rivers in Indianapolis is not going to go well.

Yeah, obviously Philip Rivers I’ve been hearing rumors after he left the Chargers he had not a good arm going on and he had a lot of injuries with that arm. So definitely not surprised to see this. Parris Campbell had a 71 yards. Minshew like we were talking about before. I think he’s playing for the team starting quarterback position. I mean, I mean, he’s playing for that franchise position.

And Charlotte. car had 239 yards job Jacob 93 yards. This Raiders team look good, but obviously Carolina has a new team and also a new coach.

I think one trend that we might have to keep track of is how much does continuity affect teams at least early season performance. You know, when you have a team that’s been relatively stable, it has the same coach the same place Players? Like I don’t think that the rate the Raiders had too many changes or someone like dealers.

I, you know, I think they were benefit and then when you see a team that has had a new coach like the Browns or the Panthers, and you know what with this with this whole situation, you know, the training camp was different. There were no otas there were so many things that were different that would hamper a new coach to try to put in his system. So I think that’s one thing to check. I mean, I don’t think anybody thought that Panthers were going to be very good to begin with. But uh, you know, I think the big takeaway from this game is that Josh Jacobs might be the real deal. I mean, he was good last year, but you know, he might be one of the best running backs in the league.

I agree. Josh Jacobs is my man. people forgot how he had a good season last season. I think he’s he’s definitely one of the top running backs in this league. Rookie Henry wrote I had a leg injury in the game but was not serious. Definitely one of the new guys in this team but looking good, which I’m looking forward to their new stadium. Yeah, we’ll see. I mean, I you know, I had my doubts about Gruden, but, you know, maybe, maybe he is a good coach, maybe he could put it together.

You know, they I believe The attendance is very good and they have a diehard fan base there So, you know it would not surprise me and then you know it’s it’s not that far to go from Northern California to Las Vegas so

yeah i’m i’m sure score six or something like that sure they’ll do fun with attendance yeah and which is something that I think they’re betting on the new stadium so that could have more fans going into it of course like, like we were talking about before you know, big cities like Los Angeles and Vegas a lot of people that are coming from and like, like, the outside a lot of like home groans are very rare, but like I said, it’s like Pittsburgh, either way if it’s a new stadium or not have the stadium will be Steeler fans. Well, boy, what a game. Lions with a huge lead and they blow it. three touchdowns for the bears in the fourth quarter. trubisky looked bad early and then and then really came on. But God did you see that drop by john Dre Swift. Poor guy. What a way to start a beer. I mean, that’s scary. Again, ruin you right there. He had the game right in his hands and he blew an easy catch. Man I feel for that kid.

That was the big story of the offseason and the big story of week one is Bella check versus Brady who’s gonna who’s gonna look good who’s gonna win who’s not who’s not up. I think When you have somebody is smart is Bill Belichick. He won’t make it work with, you know, any type of quarterback and when you have somebody with the pedigree of Cam Newton, who is just, you know, who has had some amazing years in the NFL, and was just, you know, basically hurt by injuries if he’s not hurt, and he was running around like crazy yesterday. That speaks very well for the Patriots. You know, I know it’s not an ideal situation. I know. It’s not, you know, you know, Brady and the Patriots, but the Patriots have made it work. I mean, the dolphins are not that that good of an opponent. So we’ll see. But

I think it’s a good um I think it was a shame because he drove them down the field late in the game for the time field goal and the field goal kicker just just screwed it in spectacular fashion and now Joe burrow looking at the Miss fugo is a meme because because the world is scroll but you know he look good. It’s it’s, you know, once he gets you know his his legs under him and gets a little more experience. I think he is going to be the possibly the real deal in the NFL, so good for him. Not So good for you know the Steelers in the in the Ravens in the in the Browns but you know I hope I hope he does very well against Cleveland in Baltimore and you know not so well against the Steelers do the

I could see that I could see the Browns imploding. I could you imagine? Odell Beckham like if he had a bad attitude and started just trashing Baker Mayfield or there’ll be like a like a some kind of civil war.

How long do you think the Mayfield experiment will last?

I think You give it one or two more years. I don’t know what his contract is. But I mean, he’s had he had what a good part of a rookie year. And that’s it. Other than that he’s been ineffective. And I’m tired of seeing his stupid face on commercials. He’s done nothing to deserve been on all these commercials people.

Oh boy, this is a this is one of the biggest games of the day. I mean, yeah. I mean, NFC champions and you Know the Cardinals Kyler Murray, you know, looking good and now he has DeAndre Hopkins. And it’s amazing how good a quarterback looks or how much better he looks when you have a world class wide receiver, one of the best in the league. Amazing, amazing how all of a sudden he looks like even better. So we’ll see how that but that’s a huge win for the Cardinals to go into San Francisco and beat them.

So you know, if you have a situation where one team does not run away with it, let’s say you know all teams are like, you know have like eight or nine or 10 wins toward the end of the season you have like a three way race or something like that or even a four way race maybe the Rams will be good.

You know, you have all those pieces you have gronk Oj Howard, I believe they have someone else maybe came on grade or something like that, on top of all the wide receivers and on top of all the running backs that they got, so, you know, maybe it just will take a while for the offense to gel in them to figure it out. Honestly, I’m not that high on gronk I think he is. I think it’s been pretty mixed. Maybe washed up. I think gronk is definitely washed up. So, I mean, you know, it might take a while for this offense to gel And when they do i mean they have the potential to be the best offense in the NFL.

They are built to win now. They figure they only have been on the bench 38 daily. They will probably only have them for another year or two maybe a little bit longer but basically they are in win now mode so it’s either it’s super bowl or bust for the team. They look good they’ve they’ve added some weapons chase Claypole, Eric ebron. Relatively few losses are only big loss on defense was Giovanna, Hargrave. So they are set up to do really well. And we’ll see at least on paper there or something. We’ll see if it actually happens.
