After bouncing back from last week’s inexplicable loss to the Miami Dolphins , the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Los Angelos Rams 16-24 during their Sunday Night matchup. The victory was huge for the 49ers who are now at a .500 record (3-3). Coming into the game, the Niners were sitting in last place in the NFC West.
Sunday night’s game could be a breakout game for one Jimmy Garoppolo (better known as Jimmy G) this season. Last week, Jimmy G had a struggling performance against the Dolphins in the second half. He was returning from being sidelined for 2 weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Last night, Jimmy G finished up with 23-33 completions, 268 yards, and three touchdowns .
Tight End George Kittle had a big game for the Niners’, he caught seven receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown.
For the Rams who came in the game with only one loss , struggled in the red-zone . Only one touchdown was scored out of three attempts in the red-zone. The biggest reason for the Rams’ loss last night was Time of Possession. The 49ers controlled the ball for 15 minutes more than the Rams did the entire game. QB Jared Goff only completed half of his passes with 19 completions out of 38 attempts. He added 198 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on the game.
The only bright side for the Rams was the running game. Darrell Henderson Jr. finished with 14 carriers for 88 yards.
The 49ers’ (3-3) next game is on the road against the Patriots. Jimmy G faces his former coach Bill Belichick for the first time since being traded in 2017. The Rams (4-2) will welcome the Chicago Bears in a home conference matchup.
