Former Oklahoma starting quarterback Spencer Rattler will transfer to South Carolina, per his Twitter. Rattler, a former five-star prospect, joins a Gamecocks program that is coming off an 6-6 finish in 2021. South Carolina also added former Oklahoma tight end Austin Stogner, who made the announcement on Twitter.
Rattler, who took over starting duties at Oklahoma in 2020 and was a preseason Heisman favorite in 2021, entered the transfer portal on Nov. 29 after losing the Sooners starting job to Caleb Williams midseason. His entry additionally came one day after Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma to become the next head coach at USC.
