Tyson Fury wasted no time putting mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte on a leash before catching him with an uppercut right at the end of round number six to retain his WBC heavyweight crown in front of a huge crowd at Wembley Stadium.
Whyte was groggy coming back up during the referee’s 10-count, and a worrying stumble upon returning to his feet forced the official to call it off.
“I’m one of the greatest heavyweights of all time,” said Fury in the ring afterwards. “Dillian Whyte has the heart of a lion and the strength of a bull, but he was in there with a great.”
