Mired in the second longest losing streak in franchise history, the Los Angeles Angels have made a change at manager, the team announced Tuesday afternoon. Joe Maddon has been relieved of his duties and third base coach Phil Nevin will serve as the interim manager.
The Angels have lost 12 straight games, including a 1-0 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Monday night, to fall to 27-29 on the season. Maddon had been the team’s manager since 2020 and the club went 157-172 (.477) with no postseason appearances under his watch.
