Vikings 24, Dolphins 16
The Vikings defeated the Dolphins 24-16 on Sunday, as Miami rookie quarterback Skylar Thompson left in the first half with a thumb injury after hitting his hand on a Vikings player’s helmet. Teddy Bridgewater came in for Thompson, but could not pull off the win, as Miami lost its third game in a row after a 3-0 start. The first-place Vikings now stand at 5-1, their only loss coming in Week 2 at Philadelphia.

Falcons 28, 49ers 14
Maros Mariota threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another score against the NFL’s top-ranked defense, leading the Falcons to a 28-14 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Mariota, the No. 2 overall pick in 2015, completed his first 13 passes for the Falcons (3-3), finally throwing his lone incompletion on his final attempt of the day.

He finished with 129 yards through the air in Atlanta’s conservative passing game, also rushing for 50 yards on six carries.

Kyle Pitts caught his first TD pass of the season and just the second of his 22-game career, hauling in a 7-yard throw from Mariota that prompted the young tight end to break out the vintage ”Dirty Bird” dance.

Garoppolo connected with Aiyuk on a 12-yard score, the Falcons went three-and-out, Ray-Ray McCloud broke off a 35-yard punt return, and Garoppolo went to Aiyuk again for a 14-yard TD toss.

Patriots 38, Browns 15 (Takeaways)
The New England Patriots moved to .500 on the season with a 38-15 win over the Browns in Cleveland.

Bailey Zappe is finished with 309 yards with two TDs and no interceptions on 24 of 34 passing, while Rhamondre Stevenson carried the ball 19 times for 76 yards and a pair of scores, while adding four catches for 15 yards. On the Cleveland side, Jacoby Brissett went 21 of 45 for 266 yards with one TD and two INTs.

Giants 24, Ravens 20 (Takeaways)
Giants continued their incredible run to start the season in Week 6, as they notched a comeback 24-20 victory over Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. Down 20-10 in the fourth quarter, the Giants scored 14 unanswered points to move ahead in crunch time. An interception set up the game-winning touchdown, and then rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux stripped Jackson on what could have been Baltimore’s game-winning possession.

Daniel Jones completed 19 of 27 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, one that went to rookie wideout Wan’Dale Robinson, and the other to rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger. Saquon Barkley didn’t dominate all game, but finished rushing for 83 yards and one touchdown.

Jackson, on the other hand, completed 17 of 32 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Surprisingly, the offense was carried by running back Kenyan Drake, who rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries. Mark Andrews had a huge game, catching seven passes for 106 yards and one touchdown.

Jets 27, Packers 10 (Takeaways)
New York snapped Green Bay’s 15-game, regular-season winning streak at Lambeau Field with a 27-10 win Sunday. The Jets have their first three-game winning streak since Weeks 10-12 in the 2019 season.

Zach Wilson’s return from a knee injury, averaging 29.3 points per game with him at the helm this season since Week 4

Breece Hall had another standout performance a week after setting the Jets’ rookie scrimmage yards record with 197 against the Dolphins in Week 5. He totaled 116 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 carries this week with his 34-yard rushing touchdown effectively serving as the knockout punch against a struggling Packers bunch on both sides of the ball.

Colts 34, Jaguars 27
Ryan read Jacksonville’s defense, relied on his instincts and then lobbed a 32-yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Alec Pierce, who caught it just over the hands of a defender with 17 seconds left to give the Colts a 34-27 victory.

Ryan was 42 of 58 for 389 yards with three touchdowns, no sacks and no turnovers. He broke the franchise’s single game record for completions and moved into seventh on the NFL’s career passing list.

Dan Marino has 61,361 yards. Ryan now has 61,499 yards and 45 career game-winning drives. He’s also fifth all-time with 30 career games of 350 or more yards passing.

Indy (3-2-1) snapped a two-game skid against its AFC South rival and improved to 1-2-1 in division play. Plus, Indy ended a touchdown drought that stretched to Week 4 and topped the 20-point mark for the first time in eight games.

Jacksonville (2-4) has lost three straight despite gashing Indy’s usually stout rushing defense for 243 yards and big play after big play.

The Jags led the entire first half, extended the margin to 21-13 just five plays into the second half and responded with a 10-minute, 18-play drive after Indy had finally taken a 26-21 lead on Ryan’s TD pass to Jelani Woods early in the fourth quarter.

Trevor Lawrence responded with a 4-yard scoring pass to Christian Kirk for 27-26 lead with 2:44 to go. A 2-point conversion pass failed.

Lawrence was 20 of 22 with 163 yards and one score while running for two TDs.

Bengals 30, Saints 26 (Recap)
Joe Burrow passed for three touchdowns and scrambled 19 yards for a score, with two of his scoring passes going to Chase in a 30-26 comeback victory.

Cincinnati (3-3) rallied for nine points in the final four minutes, starting with Evan McPherson’s 52-yard field goal that trimmed New Orleans’ lead to 26-24.

The Saints (2-4) failed to get a first down on their next series, and Blake Gillikin’s shanked punt fluttered out of bounds at the Cincinnati 40.

New Orleans rushed for 228 yards as a team, but ended four drives inside the Cincinnati 20-yard line with Wil Lutz field goals.

Burrow’s other touchdown passes went for 9 yards to Joe Mixon and 15 yards to Chase, who caught seven passes for 132 yards.

Burrow trimmed the Saints’ lead to 17-14 in the second quarter when he ducked out of a near sack and scrambled 19 yards for a score.

Steelers 20, Buccaneers 18 (Takeaways)
Kenny Pickett’s first career start included just about everything, including Pittsburgh’s rookie quarterback leaving the game with a concussion midway through the third quarter. Pickett’s backup, Mitch Trubisky, made sure that his teammate would win his first home start, as Trubisky made several key plays down the stretch to complete the Steelers’ 20-18 upset win over the Buccaneers.

Pickett led the Steelers to a 13-12 lead after starting the game with his first career touchdown pass on a 6-yard strike to Najee Harris. Following Pickett’s exit, Trubisky extended the Steelers’ lead by firing a 6-yard touchdown pass to Chase Claypool with 9:55 left. Following a Buccaneers score, two third-and-long conversions from Trubisky to Claypool clinched the Steelers’ first home win of the 2022 season.

Rams 24, Panthers 10 (Recap)
Matthew Stafford passed for 253 yards, Darrell Henderson and receiver Ben Skowronek rushed for touchdowns in the second half, and the Rams snapped their two-game skid with a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Matthew Stafford passed for 253 yards, Darrell Henderson and receiver Ben Skowronek rushed for touchdowns in the second half, and the Rams snapped their two-game skid with a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

”This game today is another example of (how) you just never know what’s going to happen,” Stafford said. ”Our left tackle goes out, and we’ve got to move guys around. Obviously that kind of spurred us in execution, but we’ve got to continue to do more of it. If we can do that more consistently and play off of our defense, who played great again today, that would be nice.”

Allen Robinson caught a TD pass for the Rams (3-3), who overcame two straight ugly defeats and their offensive line’s latest injury setback to spoil Steve Wilks’ debut as the Panthers’ interim head coach.

Los Angeles trailed 10-7 at halftime, but took control in the second half behind its patchwork offensive line. After Skowronek put the Rams ahead and scored his first NFL touchdown in the third quarter with an 18-yard sprint on his first career rushing attempt, Henderson added a 2-yard TD run with 8:15 to play.

Donte Jackson returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown for the Panthers (1-5), who have lost three straight.

Christian McCaffrey amassed 158 of Carolina’s 203 total yards, racking up the highest percentage of any NFL team’s offense from one player since 2003. But P.J. Walker passed for just 60 yards while making his third career start in the injury absences of Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold and Matt Corral.

Seahawks 19, Cardinals 9 (Recap)
Kenneth Walker, The Seattle rookie did just that, rushing for 97 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown to lead the Seahawks to a 19-9 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Geno Smith completed 20 of 31 passes for 197 yards for Seattle. He also ran for 48 yards on six carries. Jason Myers kicked four field goals for the Seahawks.

Kyler Murray completed 23 of 37 passes for 222 yards with an interception, while rushing for 100 yards for the Cardinals (2-4), who couldn’t score even when they moved the ball effectively.

Bills 24, Chiefs 20 (Takeaways)
Josh Allen threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns, including the go-ahead toss to Dawson Knox with 1:04 left, and the Bills held on for a 24-20 victory to exact a measure of revenge for their epic overtime loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in last year’s playoffs.

Stefon Diggs had 10 catches for 148 yards and a touchdown, and Gabe Davis also had a TD catch after torching Kansas City for four of them in January, as the Bills (5-1) won in the same place their season had ended the past two seasons.

Mahomes finished with 338 yards passing to go with two touchdowns and two interceptions, including one in the end zone early in the game. JuJu Smith-Schuster had five catches for 113 yards and a touchdown.

Eagles 17 at Cowboys 26
Jalen Hurts threw for 155 yards and two touchdowns, C.J. Gardner-Johnson had two of Philadelphia’s three interceptions of Cooper Rush, and the Eagles stayed undefeated with a 26-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

The Eagles held on after their 20-0 lead shrank to 20-17 early in the fourth quarter, improving to 6-0 for the first time since 2004 — when they won their first seven games and went to the Super Bowl.

Philly put the game away with an efficient drive that took up more than half the fourth quarter. The Eagles converted three third downs and Hurts hit DeVonta Smith for a 7-yard touchdown. Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs ripped off his helmet and slammed it in anger after the score, one final blown opportunity to make a stop and wrest the NFC East lead away from the Eagles.

The Eagles had converted 8 of 12 fourth-down attempts coming into the game and kept the gambles rolling on their first scoring drive. Hurts connected with A.J. Brown on fourth-and-3 for 11 yards. Then on fourth-and-4 from the 10, the Eagles snared Dallas in a neutral zone infraction for an automatic first down. Miles Sanders scored on a 5-yard TD run and a 7-0 lead.
