Defensive analyst and NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor will remain with the Hurricanes after entertaining NFL options and be promoted defensive end coach. Taylor served as an assistant to Rod Wright, who left the program for an opportunity with the Houston Texans last week.
Taylor finished his NFL career with 139.5 sacks and was three time named a first-team All-Pro while earning six bids to the Pro Bowl as a member of the Miami Dolphins. His greatest season in aqua and orange came in 2006 when Taylor was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year after totaling 13.5 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, 11 passes defended, and returned two interceptions for touchdowns.
