San Antonio won the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday and the right to pick Victor Wembanyama, the most highly-anticipated prospect in a generation.
Detroit, Houston and San Antonio all had the same odds — 14% each — of winning the No. 1 pick entering the evening as part of a flattened lottery system implemented by the NBA nearly a decade ago. But it was the Spurs who won the lottery and will pick first in next month’s draft. Charlotte will pick No. 2 with Portland selecting No. 3 and Houston with the fourth pick. The Pistons, slipped to the disappointing No. 4 position.
