Saints’ RB Kamara pleads no contest to misdemeanor charge in assault case

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara agreed to plead no contest to a lesser misdemeanor charge of breach of peace for his role in a 2022 assault in Las Vegas, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

As part of the agreement, charges of felony battery and misdemeanor conspiracy to commit battery will be dropped. Kamara will be required to do 30 hours of community service and pay $105,000 to Darnell Greene to cover his medical expenses, according to legal analyst Gabe Feldman.

Kamara and three other men were indicted for an incident that took place Feb. 5, 2022, at a hotel before the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas. The 27-year-old was originally arrested in February 2022 after participating in the Pro Bowl. Kamara pleaded not guilty in March 2023. Surveillance video that became public in November shows Kamara and the other men attacking Greene.

A judge is expected to sign off on Kamara’s plea agreement later in July.
