Max Verstappen won his seventh straight race and Red Bull earned a record 12th consecutive victory on Sunday at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Red Bull’s 12th win in a row saw them break the previous record held by McLaren in 1988. Verstappen also tied the second-longest win streak in F1 history with the victory.
“People forget how hard it is to win 12 in a row, even when you have the fastest car,” Verstappen said, according to The Associated Press. “Hopefully we can keep this momentum going for a long time.”
The leader in the driver standings shared the podium with McLaren’s Lando Norris and teammate Sergio Perez, who finished second and third, respectively.
