The NBA advised Damian Lillard and his agent, Aaron Goodwin, that any future comments made about Lillard wanting to play for only the Miami Heat could subject him to discipline, according to league memo sent to all 30 teams obtained by TNT’s Chris Haynes.
The league also informed the players’ union that any comments by players or their agents about refusing to perform the services called for under a contract could lead to penalties.
Goodwin denied telling teams that Lillard would only play for the Heat. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported on July 1 that Lillard demanded the Portland Trail Blazers send him to Miami.
