New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German agreed to voluntarily submit to inpatient treatment for alcohol abuse, the team announced Wednesday.
General manager Brian Cashman said German would miss the remainder of the 2023 season and called it a very serious situation, according to Andy Martino of SNY.
“I’m worried right now for the person and the immediate family,” Cashman said, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, adding German has previously dealt with alcoholism and that a specific incident took place Tuesday.
