Texas Rangers right-hander Max Scherzer now ranks 11th on the all-time strikeout list after recording the 3,343rd K of his illustrious career Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Scherzer surpassed Hall of Famer and five-time All-Star Phil Niekro in the ranks. The momentous punchout came against Brewers second baseman Brice Turang.
The three-time Cy Young winner finished with four strikeouts to give him 3,344. He only lasted 3 2/3 innings in a 6-2 loss against Milwaukee.
