Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham has been diagnosed with a left knee strain following an MRI and will be re-evaluated in 7-to-10 days, the team announced Tuesday.
Cunningham was injured Sunday while facing the Denver Nuggets, leaving the game at the 6:21 mark of the second quarter but never returning. Detroit eventually fell 131-114 for the side’s fourth straight loss and 32nd in its last 33 games. The Pistons’ only win in that span was a 129-127 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 30 that snapped a record 28-game losing streak.
Despite Detroit’s struggles this season, Cunningham has yet to miss a game in 2023-24. He was limited to just 12 contests in 2022-23 after suffering a stress fracture in his shin and undergoing season-ending surgery in December 2022.
