The Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid are set to begin negotiations in the coming weeks for a deal that’s expected to make him the NFL’s highest-paid coach, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
General manager Brett Veach is reportedly also in line for a new deal after the Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. Both new contracts could be done by the Annual League Meeting, which takes place March 24-27, adds Pelissero.
It was previously reported that Reid, who’s led Kansas City to three Super Bowl wins in the last five years, was in line for an extension regardless of the result against San Francisco.
