Jared Wright and Rieger Lorenz netted second-period goals as third-ranked Denver defeated top-seeded Boston College 2-0 on Saturday to claim the national championship in men’s hockey.
It’s Denver’s second title in three years after prevailing over Minnesota State in the 2022 final. It has also won three of the last seven national championship games. The NCHC squad took home the title in 2017 by beating Minnesota Duluth.
Pioneers goaltender Matt Davis was named Most Outstanding Player for the tourney. Five of the six players on the All-Tournament team played for Denver.
