Woods struggled mightily from the opening tee despite starting the day in 22nd-place after setting the new Masters record with his 24th straight made cut.
The five-time winner battled putting issues through the first nine to post a 6-over 42 – his worst score on the opening stretch at Augusta in his Masters career.
