The San Francisco Giants traded designated hitter/outfielder Jorge Soler and reliever Luke Jackson to the Atlanta Braves for left-hander Tyler Matzek and minor-league infielder Sabin Ceballos, the teams announced.
There is no cash included in the deal, which means the Braves will pay the remaining $26 million on Soler’s contract, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.
Soler owns a .240/.330/.419 slash line with 12 homers, 23 doubles, and 40 RBIs. He’s in the first season of the three-year, $42-million contract he signed with the Giants in February.
