The San Francisco Giants parted ways with president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi and named former Giants catcher Buster Posey as his replacement, the team announced Monday.
“We appreciate Farhan’s commitment to the organization and his passion for making an impact in our community during his six years with the Giants,” team chairman Greg Johnson said in a statement. “Ultimately, the results have not been what we hoped, and while that responsibility is shared by all of us, we decided that a change is necessary.”
Posey, 37, will take over the role. He spent his entire 12-year MLB career with the Giants, winning three World Series championships and an MVP award and appearing in seven All-Star Games.
