San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich suffered a mild stroke earlier in November at the team’s home arena, the franchise announced Wednesday.
The Spurs added that Popovich has started a rehabilitation program and is expected to make a full recovery. A timeline for the 75-year-old’s return to the sidelines hasn’t been determined.
Popovich was previously listed out with an undisclosed illness. Assistant coach Mitch Johnson has taken over for the veteran bench boss, compiling a 3-3 record in his place.
