Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders due to a knee injury, the team announced.
Daniels is dealing with a knee sprain and missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. He was limited during Friday’s session.
“We’re not going to do this the fast way, we’re going to do it the smart way,” Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said about Daniels’ injury, according to The Athletic’s Nicki Jhabvala.
Marcus Mariota will be under center for Washington versus Las Vegas. The 31-year-old played for the Raiders in 2020 and ’21 and has 74 NFL starts under his belt. Mariota’s most recent start came during the 2022 season as a member of the Atlanta Falcons.
