New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson is expected to be a trade candidate before the Nov. 4 deadline, sources told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
The Giants benched Wilson earlier this week in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart. After the decision, Wilson said he was focused on helping Dart and wanted to remain in New York. But he added he’s “not done” yet.
Any team that acquires Wilson via trade would take on $2 million in base salary, according to Rapoport and Garafolo. The Giants also have Jameis Winston as veteran insurance if Wilson is moved. Winston is currently serving as the No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart.
