Oklahoma State hired North Texas coach Eric Morris as its next head coach, the program announced Tuesday.
Morris has been with North Texas for the last three seasons, posting a 21-15 record, including a 10-1 mark this season. He’ll remain with the Mean Green through the rest of the campaign before heading to Stillwater, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
North Texas’ 45.8 points per game leads all FBS teams this year. With victories over Temple on Saturday and then in the American Conference title game, the Mean Green could earn a spot in the College Football Playoff as the top Group of 5 conference champion.
