No. 10 Miami is off to the College Football Playoff semifinal after holding off a second-half rally by No. 2 Ohio State to secure the 24-14 upset win in the Cotton Bowl on Wednesday.
The Hurricanes exploded out of the gates to hold a 14-0 halftime lead – the first time the Buckeyes have been held scoreless in the first half since the 2016 CFP semifinal.
The opening five drives of the contest for the Ohio State offense returned just 87 total yards in 18 plays, with a 72-yard pick-6 giving the Hurricanes an early two-score lead.
