The New York Giants set up an interview with former Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy for their head coaching job, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
McCarthy most recently coached the Cowboys from 2020-24, but the two sides parted ways following the 2024 campaign after his contract expired. He did not coach in the NFL this past season. He posted a 49-35 record with Dallas and made three playoff appearances. However, the team went 7-10 in his final season.
The 62-year-old is one of the most veteran candidates available with 18 years of head coaching experience. Prior to his Cowboys stint, McCarthy led the Packers for 13 seasons, compiling a 125-77-2 record and winning a Super Bowl at the end of the 2010 season.
