The Demond Williams saga took another unexpected turn Thursday night, with the star quarterback announcing his return to Washington for his junior season.
“After thoughtful reflection with my family, I am excited to announce that I will continue my football journey at the University of Washington,” Williams posted on Instagram. “I am deeply grateful to my coaches, teammates, and everyone in the program for fostering an environment where I can thrive both as an athlete and an individual. I am fully committed and focused on contributing to what we are building.”
The news comes just days after Williams shocked the college football world by stating his intention to enter the transfer portal despite signing a new deal with Washington only 48 hours earlier. The contract is worth $4 million, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN.
