Jim Schwartz resigned from his role as the Cleveland Browns’ defensive coordinator, the team announced Friday.
Schwartz stepped down after discussions with new head coach Todd Monken about potentially staying on for the 2026 season, sources told NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
The 59-year-old was reportedly upset he wasn’t promoted to head coach after being a finalist for the job. He apparently told people in the organization that he didn’t plan to remain with the team despite being under contract.
