The Dallas Cowboys restructured the contracts of quarterback Dak Prescott and offensive lineman Tyler Smith to create $47 million in salary cap space, according to ESPN’s Field Yates and Adam Schefter.
Dallas also revised the contract of star wideout CeeDee Lamb ahead of free agency, sources told ESPN’s Todd Archer.
According to Over the Cap, the Cowboys are now $9 million under the salary cap prior to the start of the new league year, which begins March 11. They were previously $56 million over the base cap of $301.2 million for the 2026 season.
Prescott signed a four-year, $240-million extension with the Cowboys in September 2024. The 32-year-old will convert $38 million of his salary into a signing bonus to clear $30.4 million in cap space. The team also revised his deal last offseason in an effort to free up $36.6 million.
