The New York Giants have engaged with teams about a potential Dexter Lawrence trade after contract talks between the two sides reached an impasse, sources told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The situation surrounding the three-time Pro Bowler should have a conclusion by next week’s NFL draft, Rapoport adds.
Lawrence requested a trade earlier in April, but the Giants have publicly expressed optimism that they can find a way to retain him. Head coach John Harbaugh said last week that he believed Lawrence wanted to stay with the team, but understood there was business involved. General manager Joe Schoen expressed a similar sentiment Tuesday.
