Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is joining NBC’s Sunday Night Football pregame show “Football Night in America” as a studio analyst, sources told The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand.
Fox was initially considered the favorite to land Tomlin due to his friendship with reporter Jay Glazer, Marchand adds, but Tomlin was NBC’s top target.
NBC moved on from analyst and former NFL head coach Tony Dungy earlier this year. The futures of Rodney Harrison, Jac Collinsworth, and Chris Simms are reportedly uncertain.
