The New York Jets recently hosted veteran Russell Wilson for a visit and are considering him as a possible backup to Geno Smith, a source told Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.
However, a deal between the sides isn’t imminent, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini.
The Jets presented Smith with various backup options, and he was excited about the possibility of Wilson joining the team, Rosenblatt adds. The two passers reportedly spoke before the draft, and the organization scheduled Wilson’s visit for this past Monday.
