The New York Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 on Sept. 13 in the first Sunday Night Football contest of the season, the teams announced Monday.
This will mark the eighth time in the last 15 campaigns that the two sides have opened the year against each other. It last happened in 2023, when the Cowboys beat the Giants 40-0.
New York’s contest against its division rival under the lights will also be head coach John Harbaugh’s debut with the team. The 63-year-old was hired in late January after an 18-year run as the Baltimore Ravens’ coach.
Dallas will now have back-to-back campaigns with its season opener airing in prime time. The Cowboys were in last season’s opening contest against the then-defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, a game they lost 24-20.
