Ryan Garcia announced that he plans to fight Conor Benn in Las Vegas in September. Garcia, 27, recently won his first major world title by defeating Mario Barrios in February after previously falling short in two title attempts. Garcia said the matchup is personal, claiming Benn confronted him at an awards show two years ago. Benn, 29, has never fought for a world title and is aiming to build on his family legacy as the son of former two-division champion Nigel Benn. Benn has also recently competed above welterweight, moving up divisions before his latest victory over Regis Prograis.
