Cleveland Guardians star third baseman José Ramírez is expected to miss five-to-seven weeks after undergoing surgery Tuesday to remove the hook of his fractured left hamate bone, the team announced, according to Tim Stebbins of MLB.com.
Ramírez suffered the fracture during Saturday’s 3-1 win over the Detroit Tigers.
Prior to this injury, the seven-time All-Star had appeared in at least 152 games per season eight times since 2016.
