The Atlanta Hawks agreed to a one-year, $21-million extension with guard CJ McCollum, his agent told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
McCollum’s new deal, which prevents him from becoming an unrestricted free agent at the end of the month, also contains a trade kicker.
Atlanta acquired the 34-year-old midseason from the Washington Wizards in a swap that sent Trae Young to D.C. McCollum played 41 regular-season contests with the Hawks, putting up 18.7 points, 4.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and a steal per game while helping Quin Snyder’s squad secure the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
