Paraguay pulled off a World Cup shocker Monday by eliminating four-time champion Germany to advance to the round of 16 after an astounding penalty shootout.
Paraguay emerged with a 4-3 victory from the penalty spot after the match finished 1-1 over 120 minutes.
Orlando Gill made two saves in the shootout, and Jonathan Tah, who had a would-be winning goal called off in extra time for a contentious foul on the goalkeeper, then fired his effort over the bar.
Jose Canale finally converted the decisive spot-kick.
