The New Orleans Saints and running back Alvin Kamara are finalizing a restructured contract that’ll keep him with the team through the 2026 season, according to Terron Armstead and New Orleans Football’s Nick Underhill.
Kamara, who turns 31 in late July, has been with the Saints for his entire nine-year career. His potential departure became a talking point during OTAs due to his $10.4-million cap hit, the third-highest on the roster, according to Over The Cap.
The veteran signed a two-year, $24-million extension in 2024, and he’ll now be scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in 2027. New Orleans made a significant addition to its running back room this offseason by signing Travis Etienne to a four-year, $52-million deal during free agency.
