Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Vita Vea has requested a trade, his agent told NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Vea’s trade request comes after unsuccessful contract extension negotiations, as he enters the final year of his deal. He’s scheduled to earn $18-million this season.
The defensive tackle market was reset this offseason by Tennessee Titans star Jeffery Simmons, who inked a three-year, $105.8-million extension. The Cincinnati Bengals also gave Dexter Lawrence a one-year, $28-million extension after acquiring him from the New York Giants in April.
