San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall is expected to undergo season-ending knee surgery on a PCL injury that dates back to last season, general manager John Lynch told reporters Saturday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
A 2024 first-round pick, Pearsall was sidelined from practice earlier this week due to knee swelling related to his prior PCL injury.
The decision to have surgery came after lengthy discussions with doctors, Schefter adds.
Lynch added that the wideout will have surgery in the “next couple of weeks” and that the recovery timeline is 6-12 months, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic. However, Lynch believes nine months might be a realistic timetable.
