The New York Yankees are trading reliever Camilo Doval to the Pittsburgh Pirates for two prospects. The deal is in the medical review stage.
Doval, who was acquired from the Giants at last year’s deadline, has struggled in his brief time in pinstripes.
In 22 appearances last season with the Yankees, Doval pitched to a 4.82 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP, converting one save out of three attempts.
This season, Doval started as the bridge to closer David Bednar and those struggles continued. In 44 games, Doval has pitched to a 4.54 ERA with a 1.41 WHIP.
