The Golden State Warriors brought back Gary Payton II for the 2026-27 season.
Payton’s deal is for one year and is worth $3.9 million, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The 33-year-old averaged a career-high 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on 58.3% shooting in 73 appearances last season.
Payton returns for his fifth successive campaign in Golden State after being acquired from the Portland Trail Blazers in February 2023. The Oregon State product only made 15 appearances for the Blazers after joining them in free agency following his first spell with the Warriors.
