Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce received a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection in his surgically repaired left ankle, a source told The Athletic’s James Boyd.
It’s reportedly the second time Pierce has received the injection since undergoing ankle surgery in March. The injection is designed to help heal damaged joints, ligaments, and tendons.
The 26-year-old has yet to practice this offseason and there isn’t a definitive timetable for his return, Boyd added.
