Former North Carolina men’s basketball player Seth Trimble, whose buzzer-beating 3-pointer to beat Duke last season was a highlight of his four years with the Tar Heels, has committed to Louisville for a fifth season, he told ESPN.
Trimble gained an extra year of eligibility thanks to a federal court ruling in Colorado that granted players who began their college careers in 2022 and exhausted their eligibility last year another season.
The NCAA passed new rules in June allowing five seasons of eligibility but excluded players who had used up all their eligibility in the 2025-26 season.
Trimble entered the transfer portal at the end of last season, preserving his options.
