The Seattle Seahawks and star cornerback Devon Witherspoon have agreed to a four-year, $132-million contract extension, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Witherspoon’s new deal includes $101 million guaranteed and makes the 25-year-old the highest-paid cornerback in league history, Schefter adds.
The Illinois product will earn an average of $33 million per season, topping Denzel Ward’s $31.1 million average per year salary, according to Over the Cap.
Witherspoon has made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three campaigns with the Seahawks. He was an integral piece in a defensive unit that won Super Bowl LX last season.
