Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota is likely to miss the remainder of the preseason due to a sprained MCL, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Mariota appeared to sustain the injury during the first quarter of the Commanders’ 20-7 win over the Miami Dolphins on Friday. Dolphins linebacker Tyrel Dodson landed on the 32-year-old after he completed a pass to Dyami Brown. Shortly afterward, he walked to the medical tent before going on to the locker room.
Mariota’s availability for Washington’s season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 13 remains uncertain.
