The New York Giants plan to release wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster due to the signing of running back Najee Harris. Smith-Schuster and Harris were both in Pittsburgh during the 2021 season.
Smith-Schuster signed with the Giants in early June, but is listed as a fourth-string receiver on the team’s depth chart. He did not play in the team’s first preseason game.
Smith-Schuster, who was a 2017 second-round pick in Pittsburgh, had 33 catches for 345 yards and a touchdown while with the Chiefs in 2025. He also played in Kansas City in 2022 and 2024 with a one-year run in New England splitting up his two stints in the AFC West.
