Alabama has named sophomore Keelon Russell its starting quarterback for the 2026 season, sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Russell beat out redshirt junior Austin Mack for the position. Both Russell and Mack were Ty Simpson’s backups last season.
Russell is a former five-star recruit and was the No. 2-ranked signal-caller in the 2025 class behind Michigan’s Bryce Underwood, according to ESPN’s 300.
