Former Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos is transferring to Texas Tech, sources told CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Last week, a Kentucky judge granted Castellanos a temporary restraining order, allowing him a fifth year of eligibility. The lawsuit challenged the NCAA’s new eligibility rule allowing athletes to play college sports for five seasons, which excluded players who entered college in 2022, including Castellanos.
Castellanos declared for the NFL draft after the 2025 season, but went undrafted. The 23-year-old ultimately accepted minicamp invitations from the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins to try out as a wide receiver.
